Writing to you from Uruguay.

In the final weeks of 2024 most things are winding down fast before the new year. Other things are beginning to pick up the pace.

Over the last year in The Preparation I haven’t had a specific routine to follow. I did things that I thought were interesting or important to have done. Every week I had to come up with new things to pursue.

Only during short times - like working menial jobs in Boise, going through EMT school, working here on the ranch, and working on wildfires in the US - did I have something planned out for me that required my effort for extended periods of time.

As everything is winding down, something good has been happening as we are making serious progress on The Preparation book.

One of the great (and new) things that has come out of it are structured 3 month long quarters. There is a planned big objective (such as a major course to take), online academic classes, book to read, activities to engage in…
