Somehow another week has gone by already, it’s hard to believe how fast time goes by sometimes. This time I feel like I blinked and the week was over all of a sudden.

If you remember my last update to you, then you’d know about Joel Salatin’s chicken tractor idea that I’m trying to build and implement here on the ranch.

The whole idea around chicken tractors is to create a mobile enclosure that can house up to 75 meat chickens. It’s moved every day to allow the chickens to eat new bugs and grass, and fertilize the soil at the same time.

You start by buying chicks and over the course of 8 weeks you allow them to eat off the pasture while giving them a little bit of grain to put some more meat on their bones.

After 8 weeks the chickens will have grown enough to be butchered and sold.

I want to build one of these, buy 50-75 chicks, and see if the whole process…
