Ranch Work

There was much less to do this week on the ranch. It rained nearly everyday, which is fantastic.

We got very little rain over the past 5 months, the pastures were dry and the grass was barely growing.

We bought another 50 cows recently. When it stopped raining at the end of the week we gave each cow an anti-parasite shot and put ear tags on all of them.

The new cows are mostly black angus, but there’s a few red angus in the mix too.

The cows looked good for the most part. There was only one cow that had a problem with it’s hoof. I gave it a shot of antibiotics while our casero treated her.
