A few weeks back I joined Christine Smith on her podcast to talk a little bit more about The Preparation. It’s always nice to go on another podcast because it gives me a chance to explain the program in a clear way and answer questions about it.
Christine homeschooled her kids and now runs her podcast on YouTube to try to educate other people on homeschooling or help those who are already taking that path.
When she heard about The Preparation she was interested in it for the fact that it can serve as a sort of homeschooling for some. So, she reached out to me to bring me on her podcast and ask me a few more questions about it. I enjoyed the conversation and I hope you will too.
And, if you don’t already know…
I’ve been acting as a beta tester for the program for a little over a year now and so far everything is going well:
I took an EMT class (later becoming a certified EMT), significantly increased my competency in chess (I went from 300 ELO which is terrible to over 1000 ELO, which isn’t fantastic, but it’s much better), became a better Spanish speaker, worked two menial jobs, spent several months practicing BJJ in Idaho and Colorado, made a road trip through Yellowstone National Park to learn wrangling from a man in Wyoming, completed a copywriting course, read 50+ books, read 35 historical speeches and texts, wrote 50,000+ words for various personal articles, and developed a better understanding of basic economics…
On top of that, I returned to my family’s ranch in Uruguay where I became apprenticed to a Uruguayan gaucho. From him, I learned how to operate tractors, inspect and treat cattle, mend fences, and shoe horses.
As the year progressed I was able to accomplish much more…
Later, I spent 5 days at a rope rescue course in South Dakota - learning how to rappel, tie knots, use rope rescue gear, and build raising and lowering systems. I also became a certified wildland firefighter, worked on two different wildfires as an EMT for a total of 41 days, climbed four 14,000ft mountains in Colorado, tandem skydived for the first time, and became an open water certified scuba diver.
Anyway, Christine gave me the opportunity to give a better glimpse into what exactly The Preparation is and how it’s the path young men can take to get ahead in life.
Let me know what you think about the podcast.
Was there something I could have explained better? Or maybe a topic that should be touched on but wasn’t?

Great "articulate" interview, Maxim. The Preparation dovetails perfectly with homeschooling/unschooling and Christine Smith's podcast is a wonderful venue to get the word out about the program and the upcoming book.
She sounds like a great person to bounce things off of, and her message is SOOO important! If I had a young child, I would not put them in a public school in this day and age.
