Over the past two weeks I put my focus on spending time with one of my favorite people since I won’t be seeing her for quite a long time.
We hiked, camped, and read a lot.
I started going through a private pilot textbook over the past two weeks as well. My girlfriend and my sister found the textbook in our barn attic while I was sailing in the Falklands.
It turns out that it was my dad’s textbook from 20+ years ago when he dipped his toe in the flying world just before I was born.
He got a few flight hours in, but never managed to get around to completing the ground school and FAA written exam. Plus, he told me that he was put off by how young his flight instructor was.
Anyway, I’ve been making my way through the textbook since I aim to get my PPL (Private Pilot’s License) by the end of the year.
I said before that I would make my way up to Alaska in April to start flight training. Yet, plans have slightly changed.
